Numerous years of research and studies in clinical psychology have illustrated that how individuals process received information, particularly with an attentional bias (AB) to scary information as well as bias in negatively interpreting vague information and data (interpretation bias), actually plays a huge part in the start and maintenance of depression and anxiety (Hughes at al., 2016). There is a growing interest in health psychology in the application of these experimental techniques to evaluate possible cognitive processing prejudices in health conditions like chronic pain, irritable bowel syndrome, cancer, and chronic fatigue syndrome together with health behaviors like smoking, eating, and alcohol abuse. The concept of leisure is on that has been used to measure the equity within the masses and the degree to which different classes, genders or groups share the same amount of “free” time. One of the problems with examining leisure, however, is that it is a rather subjective experience—and what constitutes leisure for one may be vastly different from how another sees it. Workplace socialization or social interaction is associated with numerous benefits for both the individuals and the organization. However, organizations are sometimes faced with socialization issues that negatively impact employee engagement and productivity. An example of an organizational situation relating to socialization is the integration of new members. Organization X has established human resource policies and plans to integrate new members into the workforce. However, these policies and practices are seemingly ineffective because new employees report of role uncertainties as they are not adequately informed of their specific duties. Consequently, the participation or engagement of new employees in the organization’s workplace is significantly affected. New employees state that they do not feel a sense of belonging and face numerous uncertainties in this working environment.

Making a big splash to establish a new policy has its risks, but this approach can be advantageous as well. The current situation is that there are only a few volunteers working with the organization regularly and they are facing burnout. So there is a problem that may break soon, and threaten the ability of the organization to do its work. The training seminars are going to be a barrier for those who are already working to continue, and a further barrier to attracting new people to do this work. There is no particular evidence that the seminars are going to solve any problem at all, so I would treat them with some skepticism. This is especially true in that 75% of volunteers are one-offs, and the number of one-offs might drop to near zero if they have to attend the seminars before volunteering.
