The Phillips Cure And Unemployment

...Education administration The Short-Run and Long-Run Relationship between Unemployment and Inflation
Introduction
Phillips observed a consistent inverse relationship between wage inflation and unemployment when he analyzed data from the UK spanning nearly a century from 1861 to 1957. The explanation Phillips gave was simple: the lower the unemployment rate, the more employers had to do to attract talent and raising wages was one of the primary ways to do just that (Wulwick, 1987). In a tight labor market, companies would race to quickly raise wages, and during periods of higher unemployment there would be less pressure to incentivize workers as the latter would consider themselves fortunate just to have a job. Since wages offered laborers are linked to prices businesses charge consumers (Lucas & Rapping, 1969), it was not long before economists applied the Phillips curve to inflation in general rather than to only wages. It became evident that monetary policy could……

Hurricane Maria And Puerto Rico S Emergency Management

Pages: 11 (3177 words) Sources: 5 Document Type:Research Paper Document #:67675163

...Education administration Introduction
Hurricane Maria was the strongest hurricane to strike Puerto Rico in nearly a hundred years when it made landfall on the tiny island state in September of 2017 (Amnesty International, 2018). Maria followed upon the heels of Hurricane Irma, which had struck the island only a mere matter of weeks before. Nearly 3000 died as a result, according to Puerto Rico’s Governor and tens of thousands of people were displaced and forced to take up temporary shelter that gradually took on a character of permanence as the island struggled to cope with the devastation of the Category 4 hurricane (Amnesty International, 2018). Losses were estimated at some $90 billion. The fact that Puerto Rico was still reeling from the damages caused by Irma, which hit on September 6th, meant that local organizations were ill-prepared to cope with a second larger hurricane on September 20th. Irma had already “caused the……

Calle Ocho Festival Miami

Pages: 4 (1089 words) Sources: 4 Document Type:Term Paper Document #:95685977

...Education administration Miami is the de facto gateway to Latin America, and Calle Ocho has for decades served as the hub of the city’s Cuban culture and community. When it first began more than forty years ago, the Calle Ocho street festival was almost exclusively Cuban in character. Now the Calle Ocho festival reflects shifting demographics and the greater diversity of Latin American people in South Florida. I selected the Calle Ocho street festival as an example of what the overall area has to offer. The festival typically takes place in March. Even during the rest of the year, though, Calle Ocho retains a unique culture, identity, and aesthetic. Landmark establishments like Ball and Chain have recently experienced a revival as younger generations recognize the historical value and worth inherent in preserving such iconic places. The Calle Ocho area has become world renowned, and one of the top tourist destinations in the……

A Urate Lowering Intervention

Pages: 6 (1735 words) Sources: 30 Document Type:Research Proposal Document #:38504275

...Education administration A Urate Lowering Intervention
Hypertension speaks to a noteworthy general medical issue. Around the world, roughly one-fourth of the grown-up populace has hypertension. Epidemiological and trial studies propose a linkage between Hyperuricemia and hypertension. Hyperuricemia influences 30?45 % of patients with untreated hypertension. A much lower commonness has been accounted for in normotensives or the overall public. “Be that as it may, in the case of bringing down serum uric Acid (SUA) may lower pulse or blood pressure is an unanswered inquiry.” (Hussar, 2010, p.70). High serum urate focus is a settled causative factor for the improvement of gouty joint inflammation. There is developing enthusiasm for a job for serum urate as a contributing component for the improvement or compounding of vascular, heart, and renal illness. The relationship between serum urate levels and Blood pressure (BP) has been depicted for a long time. Proof from creature studies gives solid help……

Israeli Security Methods In U S Airports

...Education administration Protecting U.S. Skies and Airports: Israeli Security Methods in U.S. Airports
As Gaines and Miller (2013) point out, American security forces focus on finding weapons while Israeli security focuses on finding terrorists. The difference gets to the heart of why the Israeli system is so much more efficient. However, Israel has a population of 8 million—less than that of New York City. And New York City is home to just one of many hubs and international airports in the U.S. Approximately 17 million travelers flew into Ben-Gurion Airport in Israel last year, as well—which is about a third of the number that flew into JFK (Zeff, 2017; NBC, 2018). Because of the sheer volume of travelers throughout the U.S., which dwarfs Israel’s numbers completely, the question is whether Israel’s methods can actually scale and work in a nation as big and open to the rest of the world as the……
