Spa Innovative Business Idea
...College My innovative venture is to have a Mom Spa called “Ma Spa” that is just for moms with small kids. The idea came to me after a friend of mine who is married with a couple small children complained about not being able to get to a spa like she used to be able to do and get in a little pampering to make herself feel like new. She said it was so hard just to schedule time for a spa visit because she always had two young kids in tow. The idea for the Ma Spa is that it allows moms to come in, drop their kids in the childcare section and then get their spa visit going. The childcare team watches the kids while mom gets the pampering she needs and deserves. No appointments, no wait times, just in and out and no problems.

The article explains that juvenile solitary confinement as a punitive measure in juvenile justice is equal to child abuse because of the negative impact it can have on the child’s mind. The article explains that it should be reported as child abuse and the system should not permit it. This article is relevant to the thesis because it shows that juvenile justice needs to be geared towards the fact that these are children not adults. The article’s main strength is its ability to show that juvenile solitary confinement is in fact damaging to the child’s psyche, but its weakness is that it does not provide much discussion of an alternative correctional method. ...College Watching the video, I felt that I was seeing how real people responded to the Ferguson case and other cases of oppression and injustice—and it was different than just reading these people’s tweets on Twitter or looking at their profiles on social media. It was like seeing the real person behind the digital veneer and I realized that these protestors and the people in the Black Lives Matter are real people, with real feelings. I could hear the emotion in their voices and that made a lot of difference to me. When these members of Black Lives Matter are reading their tweets that they put out in response to the harassment and killings of blacks by white officers, I could see and feel the pain and anger that these people were going through—it was actually quite powerful to see them reading their tweets in the video. ...College The relevance of a resilient force cannot be overstated. As a matter of fact, as Sinclair and Britt (2013) point out, “many of history’s great armies have distinguished themselves by demonstrating superb individual and organizational resilience” (79). Towards this end, there are various strategies that a CSM/SGM could employ in an attempt to not only manage organizational stress, but also develop resilient organizations. To begin with, it should be noted that the resilience building ought to be a continuous exercise. It is not a one-time exercise. This essentially means that resilience ought to be normalized and embraced as part and parcel of organizational identity. The institutionalization of resilience as a behavior that is largely normative calls for constant training.

The acquisition of Pixar by Disney in 2006 is an example of vertical merger, which is best described as a merger that occurs between two firms that work at separate and distinct stages of the production process. By merging operations, the two firms become one and their oversight of the production process is made that much more complete. Prior to the merger, Pixar produced films and Disney released them, marketed them, and so on. After the merger, the entire process would be overseen by Disney with Pixar leaders still playing a fundamental role in the creative development phases of production (Jain, 2013). Parents with newborn babies usually get less hours of sleep because of the demands of the baby. While I have always known that this is a reality to many new parents, I have never known what it actually feels like to be in their shoes. This experiential learning activity has provided me an opportunity to have first-hand experience of what it entails to be a parent of a newborn baby with regards to night time waking up. As one who likes to have interrupted sleep, having to wake every three hours at night was a really difficult experience for me. When the alarm went off the first time i.e. at 1:00am, it was relatively easy for me to wake up. However, the experience became more difficult way into the night as I struggled to wake up. One of the goals of the G. W. Bush Administration, which launched the War on Terrorism campaign, was to “end the state sponsorship of terrorism” (White House, 2003).
