The essential strategy of Disney is that they company requires its employees to create amazing experiences for guests and consumers. In its 2015 Form 10-K, Panera Bread describes itself as “one of the largest food service companies in the United States” and that its success is attributable to “our ability to create long-term concept differentiation.”
The company defines its strategy as differentiation, and this aligns with the generic strategy as defined by Porter. The differentiation strategy cites differentiation as a source of competitive advantage and the market scope as broad (MindTools, 2019).
In this, Panera bread is trying to achieve competitive advantage through concept differentiation. It cannot sustain competitive advantage based on things like the food it serves (fairly standard mainstream white people fare) or free wifi, but it believes that total package concept that it offers is sufficiently unique to win business in the long run. Bell Hooks On Mass Media

Bell hooks notes that “popular culture is where the pedagogy is, is where the learning is” (2006). This statement sums up her views rather well and gets right to the heart of what hooks is up to in her Cultural Criticism and Transformation talks. I agree a lot with what hooks says about popular culture and it lines up well with what cultural critics in the past have said. The Frankfurt School, for example, was very critical of popular culture and its effect on the mass of people. Horkheimer and Adorno (1944) were very critical about what popular culture was doing and how it was achieving a kind of hypnotic effect on people.

Interviews with senior executives can reveal the complexities of ethical decision making at the executive level, as personal morals frequently disconnect from the ethical culture governing the organization or the industry’s regulatory climate (Bailey & Shantz, 2018). Bandwagon fallacies—the sense that because something is normative it is ethical—predominate in the workplace. An interview with C. Linden (name altered to protect the individual’s privacy) shows how personal ethical beliefs clash with the prevailing norms and values in the field. Employee diversity adds to the complications involved in executive ethical decision-making, according to Linden. Signed into law on the 22nd of Oct, 1968, the Gun Control Act of 1968 is largely considered to be the very first significant attempt at controlling not only interstate firearms commerce, but also firearm ownership. Prior to this particular legislation, there had been other gun-control laws passed. These included but they were not limited to the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Federal Firearms Act of 1938. These laws did not, however, sufficiently put in place a mechanism for the effective regulation of firearm owners and the firearm industry. ...Branding Price skimming and penetration pricing are marketing strategies typically implemented when businesses commit to a launch of new services or products. Reliant on low upfront prices, penetration pricing attracts customers in a straight forward fashion. Skimming aims to make the most through short-term profits by offering high upfront prices to the most interested and eager consumers (Nagle, Hogan, & Zale, 2016). A good example of penetration pricing is Walmart. They offer the lowest price guaranteed on many of their products and will price match if customers find lower prices elsewhere. For a skimming example, Apple offers high prices for their latest release iPhones to interested customers and then, over time, the same model’s price lowers due to decreased demand and popularity.
