...School Topic: An argumentative comparison of Booker T Washington’s “Speech at the Atlanta Exposition,” and W.E.B. Du Bois', \"The Talented Tenth\".
Introduction
Any narrative on African American history is incomplete if one fails to examine the competition between W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington that, between the latter part of the nineteenth century and the early twentieth century, altered the route of America's pursuit of equality, besides ending up facilitating the rise of the contemporary Civil Rights Movement. In this paper, a detailed examination of both activists' works will be performed, and a few fundamental questions pertaining to the difference in their technique of raising African Americans……

Maritime Safety And Security SOP For Homeland Security Perspectives

Pages: 4 (1341 words) Sources: 11 Document Type:literature review Document #:28623347

...School Introduction
The maritime industry is increasingly moving towards the adoption of systems that rely heavily on digitization, automation, and integration (Hayes, 2016). The extensive use of advanced technological solutions in the maritime industry is driven by the urgent need to maintain the industry in sync with all other industries that seem to have a step forward in adopting technological solutions. As a result of this growth and development in technological solutions, the security of data and other sensitive information has increasingly become a huge concern for the industry (Bueger, 2015). Cybersecurity has become a priority for the maritime industry. With many of the operational and critical system having already been digitized, automated, and integrated, the concern has now shifted to how entities within the maritime industry should implement appropriate procedures and policies to respond to cybersecurity incidents effectively.

Creativity

Pages: 5 (1566 words) Document Type:response paper Document #:85752053

...School Looking at Creativity
The main purpose of these chapters is to show what creativity is and how it can often be confused for other things—like backwardness, malevolence, or even stupidity. The author uses the example of Thomas Edison as a boy and the mischief he would get up to and thus makes the point that creativity sometimes comes out in different ways and one should not be quick to judge it negatively.
The key question the author is addressing is what constitutes the creative mind? The author looks at the various qualities of the creative person, creative personality traits and the theories used over time to explain them, such as Freud’s theory or Adler’s theory; the mental processes that go along with creative expression, and how the creative output is judged according to different theoretical models. Essentially the author is asking how should one understand the creative mind?
