The Pew Research article by Drake (2013) shows that men spend more time in leisure activity than women, and the argument that has developed from this news article is that there is a leisure gap between men and women that further shows the state of gender inequality in America today. While the data from the American Time Use Survey that the article cites does show that statistically speaking men spend more time in leisure activities than women, the data itself does not tell the whole story—so the article is definitely slanted in a way so as to suggest that the leisure gap is real and that men are still taking advantage of women. 1. A simple IRA has both advantages and disadvantages when compared to a qualified plan like a 401K. Both are tax-deferred savings accounts, but where the differences lay could matter for a company like 3P. These two types of plan are mutually exclusive – an employer cannot have both at the same time (Appleby, 2019).
However, with a simple 401K the employer could have another plan for employees who aren’t covered by the 401K, which would typically be employees who earn less than $5000 per year. This may not apply to very many people, but could theoretically be one of the differences between the two types of retirement plan. Q1. In the United States there is a constant argument against “coddling” prisoners. This includes such “luxuries” as television and exercise/fitness programs. What are the pros and cons concerning these activities?
But there is no evidence that making prison as miserable as possible acts as a deterrent or rehabilitates prisoners. In fact, having an outlet for physical and mental energy may be useful, versus allowing such undirected energies into less fruitful channels, such as engaging in covert criminal activities within the prison.
