Rationale Behind Passage Of The Sarbanes Oxley Act
1. If jail time is off the table for executives, that would be an odd choice. Sarbanes Oxley creates disincentives for esecutives to commit fraud, such as in Enron. The point of SOX was really to add extra regulatory teeth, added punishments for executives committing fraud, under the knowledge that most major fraud is committed with the approval of executives, or driven by them. Folks lower down don’t have the access, nor the equity-based compensation packages, that would motivate or facilitate fraud without senior executive knowledge or initiation. As such, a law that takes jail time off the table would be pointless, as the incentives to commit accounting fraud are largely financial in nature, and therefore any punishment that simply involves fines or forfeiture of assets will invariably end up with a punishment lower than the proceeds of the crime. Introduction
Tesla has been identified as a company that struggles with employee motivation under CEO Elon Musk, who has attempted to push his employees to outperform in order to meet production targets (James, 2019). Rather than using intrinsic motivation to compel employees to self-actualize and reach their fullest and maximum levels of potential, Musk uses extrinsic motivation—which only takes one so far before the trade-off between excessive labor and long hours fails to seem worth it to employees (James, 2019). As Gerhart and Fang (2015) explain, pay, benefits and bonuses are extrinsic motivators that companies use to push employees to meet targets. However, at some point employees will conduct a cost-benefit analysis of their own and determine whether the additional labor and longer hours are worth the extra benefits or bonuses. The documentary showed how the criminal justice system is biased towards the whites while having a huge number of African-American imprisoned. This documentary revolves around the racial injustice that happens within the criminal justice system, incarcerating many African-Americans on petty crimes, filling most of the prisons with them. This is shown as just an extension of slavery, which was abolished in the 13th amendment. However, this amendment has a loophole as no Americans can be slaved except for criminals, which was excessively exploited by the whites to get them to labor on small crimes. The perspective that Blacks are criminals was ingrained within the society through movies, which gave birth to public lynching and hanging of African-Americans based on the idea of them being criminals. From the start, this was just about enslaving the blacks through exploiting the amendment and portraying them as animals.

Racial injustice is a part of American history. In spite of legislation like the Civil Rights Act of 1964, racial injustice remains rampant in the United States. Police brutality is one of the most visible areas in which racial injustice manifests itself. The murder of George Floyd was only one of many similar instances, the majority of which go unreported due to the “blue wall of silence” in police culture. Even if poor leadership in policing is more to blame than racism itself, the fact that black males experience a disproportionate number of such instances and are also stopped and arrested more often than their white counterparts, shows that racial bias is endemic in American society.

In essence, Aristotle has largely been associated with virtue ethics. To a large extent, this is a character-based approach founded on the assumption that it is through practice that we acquire virtue (Mizzoni, 2009). It therefore follows that one could further reinforce a character that is moral and honorable by, for instance, practicing generosity, justice, as well as honesty. The notion that Aristotle, thus, promotes is that habits that are virtuous ought to be honed. This is what promotes the ability of a person to make good decisions when confronted by an ethical challenge. Mill’s perspective is, however, firmly rooted in the need to advance happiness for the greatest number. There are several attack vectors for cybercriminals, which means that people need to have an equal number or more of ways to defend these attacks. Social engineering is one tactic, and it works in part because the attackers essentially bypass formal defenses such as firewalls or antivirus. Instead, social engineering is “the art of exploiting the human flaws to achieve a malicious objective” (Breda, Barbosa & Morais, 2017). A typical social engineering attack would be a phishing scam, but others would include hackers tricking people into providing information, which is then used against them (Kaspersky, 2020).
Protecting personal information online where social engineering attacks are concerned means training people in how social engineering attacks work, what the attackers need you to do, and how to spot typical scams.
