Senior leaders and Sergeant Major have to develop the leadership skills of soldiers for organizational success. Human Resources Support (FM 1-0) and Army Training and Leader Development outline the best approach for developing future Army leaders. Furthermore, Army Training and Leader Development describe an organizational framework for developing the next generation of Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs) based on three learning domains: Namely, self-development, operational, and institutional (United States Department of the Army, 2017). Senior leaders / Sergeant Major should also read the following publications: Theater-Level Human Resources Support (ATP) 1-0.2, Army Command Policy (AR) 600-20, and Legal Support to the Operational Army (FM) 1-04, and Soldier for Life – Transition Assistance Program (AR) 600-81. The above reading are useful when developing leadership programs in the Army. This paper will convey my strategy for developing future US Army leaders based on the above readings and my experiences from operational assignments.

Higher Education Labor Rights Faculty Tenure
...Operating systems Tenure refers to a legally secure position, an “indefinite appointment” at an institute of higher learning (AAUP, 2019, p. 1). Of course, extenuating circumstances may enable the educational institution to sever the contract and terminate the tenured faculty. One of those extenuating circumstances would be financial exigency: an unavoidable and unfortunate situation in which the institution experiences severe budget shortfalls and must completely reconsider reallocating resources in order to remain viable at all. A similar extenuating circumstance that may legally permit the termination of a tenured faculty member would be the restructuring of the institution to the degree that whole departments were eliminated, thus eliminating all associated faculty within that department. Other extenuating circumstances that would legally permit the institution to terminate tenured faculty would be serious legal or ethical violations. Otherwise, though, tenured faculty enjoy greater job security and benefits versus their non-tenured colleagues.

Shareholder Vs Stakeholder Theory

Milton Friedman’s quote gets to the heart of the conflict between shareholder theory vs. stakeholder theory. Shareholder theory posits that a corporation’s sole responsibility is to maximize the return on investment (ROI) for shareholders. Stakeholder theory posits, on the other hand, that a company owes a duty to all stakeholders (not just shareholders)—members of the community, workers, consumers; in short, anyone who is part of or who is impacted in some way by the company. The question is: Do corporations exist only to serve the interests of shareholders or do they also have a responsibility to serve stakeholders as well? This paper will answer that question by looking at the nature and essence of business social responsibility from the standpoint of the four major sources of ethical values in business: Law, Culture, Philosophy, and Religion.
