Introduction
Any narrative on African American history is incomplete if one fails to examine the competition between W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington that, between the latter part of the nineteenth century and the early twentieth century, altered the route of America's pursuit of equality, besides ending up facilitating the rise of the contemporary Civil Rights Movement. While both rivals belonged to the very same period, were highly talented academicians, and were activists promoting African American civil rights, they differed with respect to their background and the approach adopted by them which eventually influenced the future the most (Blatty, 2015). The Institute of Medicine (IOM) in its Future of Nursing report stated that there is a need for nurses to be able to practice to the full extent and scope of their education and training (IOM, 2010). In doing so, the belief was that this would increase access to care and provide nurses with the opportunity to practice as they were trained. O’Brien (2003) notes, after all, that the whole reason APRNs began being trained in the latter half of the 20th century was to fill the gap being left behind by primary care physicians as they left their primary care practice to go work for specialized medicine. Today, however, nurses are still bound by regulations that require them in many states to work under the supervision of physicians even though the nurses have the training to treat patients independently of doctors.

One of the biggest problems that teens face in school is the problem of peer pressure. As Bandura (2018) notes, the pressure to adapt one’s behavior in order to fit in or stand out comes from media, peers and groups—and in a school, peers are the biggest factor. One way to alleviate that pressure is to create an environment in which everyone fits in ipso facto—and that can easily be achieved by obliging all students to wear a school uniform. One is used to seeing students of private schools wear uniforms, but in public schools this idea is typically shunned. There are good arguments to be made, however, for uniforms to be mandated by public schools. Higher Education Labor Rights Faculty Tenure
...Journal Tenure refers to a legally secure position, an “indefinite appointment” at an institute of higher learning (AAUP, 2019, p. 1). Of course, extenuating circumstances may enable the educational institution to sever the contract and terminate the tenured faculty. One of those extenuating circumstances would be financial exigency: an unavoidable and unfortunate situation in which the institution experiences severe budget shortfalls and must completely reconsider reallocating resources in order to remain viable at all. A similar extenuating circumstance that may legally permit the termination of a tenured faculty member would be the restructuring of the institution to the degree that whole departments were eliminated, thus eliminating all associated faculty within that department. Other extenuating circumstances that would legally permit the institution to terminate tenured faculty would be serious legal or ethical violations. Otherwise, though, tenured faculty enjoy greater job security and benefits versus their non-tenured colleagues.

Sex Gender And Work Segregation In Cultural Industries
...Journal As Hesmondhalgh and Baker point out in cultural industries there are jobs dominated by women and jobs dominated by men. Women tend to find work in jobs such as production coordination, marketing and PR. Men tend to be found in more creative roles and technical jobs. While the authors claim that stereotypes are the reason for this workplace segregation, Hoffman and Hurst suggest that role schemas actually precede the stereotypes, and the schema are a simply based on what men and women appear socially to be good at. In other words, in the culture industry, shows and films written by men have a better track record with audiences than shows written by women—and though there may be some gender bias there it is the reality of the situation. Qualitative researchers have a number of different research strategies available to them, including case studies, phenomenology, grounded theory and ethnography. Each of these research strategies has its respective strengths and weaknesses, but ethnography in particular represents a special challenge since it seeks to learn more about a group of people from the perspective of an insider. The purpose of this paper is to provide a review of the relevant literature to identify and describe and benefits of ethnographical research as a strategy for developing a better understanding concerning the lived experiences of others. A critique of Dr. Loïc Wacquant’s ethnographical work and a discussion concerning its implications for social change are followed by a description concerning the potential impact of research in supporting positive social change through public policy in the paper’s conclusion.
