...Journal I have experience with quite a few of the different decision-making techniques. Certainly, the rational model is interesting, and utilizes parts of some of the other models, such as cost-benefit analysis. I’ve been involved a little bit with focus groups, used brainstorming, and done variations on cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness. I have less familiarity with some of the other decision-making models that we studied.
I feel that the most valuable is really the cost-benefit, which requires a lot of rational analysis. First, cost-benefit focuses ones efforts. We all know that resources are limited. As individuals we are limited in terms of time and energy. If we are going to expend these resources on something, and we are presented with more options than we can reasonably pursue, then we need to focus on energy on efforts that deliver the highest level of return for us personally, however we choose to define return.……

...Journal Parenting is a complex yet exciting adventure for many parents because of the multifaceted experience of raising a child. The virtual child program in this course has given the opportunity to experience this journey of parenting and develop my skills. This adventure of raising a virtual child has given me the opportunity to utilize conceptual knowledge gained in the classroom. I started my journey in the virtual child program by raising a boy named Mason from 2 to 6 years old. This experience is substantially different from raising an infant who expresses himself through crying, especially at night.
At 2 years of age, Mason would play a lot with his peers and share his toys. Mason would occasionally cry when interrupted from playing with his peers or when something wrong/unpleasant would happen. Mason seemingly used play as a means of creating relationships and emotional attachments with his peers. This is……

...Journal An occasion in which a public sector leader acted in an unethical manner was when he unquestioningly accepted a potentially damaging organizational culture that he inherited from the previous administration. The leader did not stop to consider that the culture of the government that he was now in charge of was rife with corruption and long time staffers who were engaged in all manner of schemes that served to benefit them, friends, and so on—particularly through the rewarding of contracts to friends, getting money for unnecessary jobs, spying, abuse, harassment, and so on. The leader accepted the culture as just the way the office was run and did not try to fix it, thinking that if this was the way it worked under his predecessor it must be okay.
It turned out to be not okay when a particular grievance was filed by a female staffer against several upper level……

...Journal The CSM/SGM plays a critical role in sustainment. Sustainment is crucial for “operational reach,” “freedom of action,” and also “prolonged endurance” (Runnels, 2013). In the role of logistics and coordination during sustainment, the SGM.CSM makes sure the strategies and tactics can be implemented with maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and expedience.
The primary components of sustainment include all logistics (for both inbound and outbound supply coordination and distribution), personnel services (including medical support and other staff assistance), and the integration of special staff requirements such as engineering or repairs (ADRP 4-0). Transportation services, legal support, and financial services may also be required during the sustainment process (FM 3-96). The CSM/SGM meets regularly with the commander to ascertain needs and evaluate the effectiveness of current sustainment strategies. Likewise, the CSM/SGM coordinates with strategic personnel for coordinating services and allocating resources as needed, within specified budgets and time frames. Timeliness and clear communications are……
