As per the course module, there are several components of a physical examination. To begin with, we have the observation of the diseases’ physical signs as well as assessment of a few factors such as skin color changes, stimuli responsiveness, alertness, mobility, facial expression, posture, etc. Next, there is the taking of the vital signs of the patient which could in this case be inclusive of the patient’s breathing rate, heart rate, blood pressure, etc. Third, yet another key component of physical examination is auscultation. Background of the Study
Centuries before missionaries and colonialists arrived in Africa and centuries before the slave trade commenced, Africans in Africa had cultural and social practices and mechanisms to sustain their societies and to prevent the loss of lives during crises. The practices and mechanisms included health education practices, procedures for managing illnesses, and procedures for preventing the spread of illnesses through societies (Iganus & Haruna, 2017). In cases where African mechanisms helped to handle and manage health crises, it is believed that it was because the successful mechanisms took into account the socio-economic situation on the ground and wholesomely addressed the health crises and the related social and economic effects. In today’s world, there are so many laws and so many confusing issues in the world, people are frightened and scared if they have a run-in with the law. The essay, “Legalized Assisted Suicide Reflects a Biased View of the Disabled” by Samuel R. Bagenstos (Bagenstos, 2009) is chosen for reflection against the article on Death with Dignity National Center’s website, named, “Death with Dignity and People with Disabilities” (Death with Dignity and People with Disabilities, n.d.). The latter supports physician-assisted suicide as a right to die with dignity even for disabled people, while the former refutes the argument heavily for disabled people.
Samuel R. Bagenstos is the Frank G. Millard Professor of Law, who recently has taught several courses, including Disability rights (Bagenstos, Samuel, n.d.). A crisis is a serious event with the potential to disrupt an organization. The fact that a crisis can negatively affect a business is the reason why leaders need to prepare for and resolve crises when they occur (Carrington, Combe & Mumford, 2019). Perhaps one of the most important things leaders must do to resolve crises is to understand them thoroughly. This is because crises can have several obvious and hidden meanings and consequences. Upon thoroughly understanding crises, leaders can then form teams to plan on what to do. So leaders play an important role in resolving crises. This qualitative study of Doekhie (et al., 2018) demonstrated scientific merit in advancing the knowledge base of the extent to which elderly, chronically ill patients can have a role in exercising oversight over their care. As more and more of the population base is classified as geriatric, facilitating patient autonomy and improved mental health becomes more and more critical. This is one of the reasons the study employed a qualitative approach, to allow patients to have direct input into shaping the trajectory of their care to the maximum extent possible.
