It is very important for Howe to pay all their debts and free themselves of the liability since a lot of loan like credit card loan, car loan, student loan, are hampering Howes to save up more. If they have plans for retiring in 22 years, they need to free themselves of all the loans and credit they have on them, thus saving up the interest money that goes out monthly. They can use that money for other expenses and purposes. In short term they might feel like they have lesser funds but they can have the relief that they don’t own anything to anyone and focus on saving for their future. There will be one more debt addition because of Pat’s college education, so it’s better they slowly focus on paying off the loans first and then proceed to making progress with the savings……

As Frank (2018) points out, over 33% of all US employees obtained their job with their current organization by way of referral from another employee there. Although employee referrals are an easy, fast and often tempting way to staff positions, the risk is that doing so can lead to a less diverse workplace, with 40% of all referrals tending to be white men (Payscale, 2018). The central question is: How can HR use employee referrals to increase the workforce but still be able to maintain diversity within the organization? Over the past 20 years, Starbucks has experienced both periods of strong growth, and periods of retraction, most notably during the Great Recession. The company’s investment strategies should have reflected its strategic priorities during this period, and an analysis of the company’s financials over this time should illustrate that. Starbucks’ growth since 1998 has mainly been in overseas markets, but the company has also branched out into other business lines, in an attempt to diversify its income streams. Today, Starbucks appears to have settled into more of a “cash cow” state, where the company is earning healthy returns from its businesses, and focused on growth mainly in some of the overseas markets where the coffee market is maybe a bit more nascent, in other words where there remains high growth potential going forward.

EU or not EU?
On the question of whether to expand into the European Union or not, there are a few different considerations for an American firm. While the EU has a fairly complex regulatory environment that could prove challenging, the decision as to where to expand internationally still has to be more of a market-based decision. That means looking at an ROI or net present value type of calculation, weighing the cost of entering the market against the size of the market opportunity. That calculation might show that the EU is the best choice for international expansion, or it might not.

By the end of the month, the school administration will hold a full scale review to determine what areas can be reopened safely
We hope to reopen;
i) The library (weekdays 9am to 6pm)
ii) More academic facilities and departments
iii) Any remaining cafes and shops
iv) Any remaining laboratories
October 2020
we will be reopening some office spaces on reduced capacity for staff and faculty who may wish to work on campus
