...Population Part 1
Technologies that parents use to look after their children include baby monitors, cell phones and GPS locators. Baby monitors are used to allow parents to be in another part of the house while the child is asleep or playing in a play pen. The parent can hear if the child cries and needs something. The parent can be busy with some other activity without fear or worry of abandoning the child because the parent is still connected via the baby monitor.
The cell phone can be used to reach out and call the older child or to post on social media or see what content the child is posting. The cell phone allows for both a quick and convenient way to contact the child and a way to monitor the child from a distance by looking at the child’s social media content. This is a window into the……

...Population 1. How does this theory fit with a clinical social work perspective?
Continuous concern with the individual in-situation is often regarded as social work’s most unique or distinguishing feature. In spite of the debate on where emphasis should be placed, both internal psychodynamics and environmental determinism are regarded as important for proper social work practice. Recent contributions made to the theoretical groundwork by cognitive-behavioral studies show that both needs can be dealt with simultaneously. Social work practice is anchored on the important, perhaps pivotal, notion that overall human behavior is usually the sum of both environmental and personal realities. Though yet to be developed thoroughly into a formal and widely accepted paradigm, the cognitive learning perspective draws from several perspectives including clinical experience, behaviorism, and cognitive psychology (Berlin, 1987).
According to the Code of Ethics published by the National Association of Social Workers (1996), there is a need to respect……

...Population The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) changed the way health care providers are reimbursed through Medicare, provided an increase in funding, and extended the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). MACRA placed conditions upon care providers in order for them to receive reimbursement: care must be quality care, i.e., care that helps them to keep from having to come back for more treatment—rather than just treatment after treatment, keeping patients coming back through the revolving door of medicine without every actually helping them. The type of quality care required by MACRA is preventive medicine and health literacy promotion. As Licthenfeld (2011) pointed out, too many doctors are diagnosing patients with health problems that are insignificant and do not need treatment—but because Medicare was always willing to bankroll treatment it made good business sense to treat every patient for every symptom. The problem is that people are like cars—as they……

...Population Introduction
Gallbladder disease, especially cholelithiasis (gallstones) affects over 20 million Americans every year. The condition often goes undiagnosed because cholelithiasis rarely presents symptoms. Abdominal discomfort, nausea, jaundice and biliary colic are some symptoms of the condition. Imaging techniques are the most accurate diagnosis tools for gallbladder diseases. However, laboratory values such as CBC, serum amylase, liver-function testing and lipase can help differentiate the type of gallbladder disease/or identify related issues. Surgery is the most effective treatment for gallbladder disease patients. Exercise, diet, and nutrition affect gallbladder disease. It is important for patients to integrate the healthy habits into their lifestyle to lower the risk of developing gallbladder disorders (Jugenheimer, et al., 2008).
Cholelithiasis (gallstones) is the most common type of gallbladder disease. It affects over 20 million Americans every year, translating to over $6.3 billion in direct costs. Generally, gallstones are asymptomatic. The stones are usually identified during autopsy or……
