It would also be valuable to preserve the best knowledge which exists in the present generation for the good of future generations, hopefully to avoid future nuclear devastation, environmental degradation, and strife.

The electric vehicle (EV) has arrived and the 21st century is poised to be the century of the EV. However, there is still a great deal of controversy and confusion about what EVs actually do for the environment and if they are really as “green” as they are purported to be. Scientists believe that the current warming of the planet is because of human activity because science has been politicized to a large extent, which has in turn led to economic changes. Scientists point to the use of fossil fuels as an explanation for periods of climate warming; this attention allowed the carbon credit system to be put into place, where carbon credits are bought and sold by companies to ensure a tighter regulation of the use of fossil fuels (Kenton, 2020).
While technically one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gases is cows and the methane they release (Lemonick, 2017), humans are still responsible for the agriculture and farming industries. The federal budget process is overseen by US Congressmen, who are fundamentally immersed in the political nature of government. As Elwood (2008) notes, members of Congress are influenced in three ways: 1) by money that is used to finance their political campaigns; 2) by obtaining the votes necessary for reelection; and 3) by obtaining expert advice on topics that are of personal importance to them. The federal budget process is particularly impactful on the first two and vice versa. For example, “the ability to funnel money into a congressional district or state provides an excellent opportunity for a legislator to remain in office” (Elwood, 2008, p. 3).
