Overmedicated Children In ADD And ADHD

Introduction
According to a report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 10,000 children could be receiving psych stimulant medication, e.g., Methylphenidate referred to as Ritalin. This report lead was reported by among others, the media indicates that children are being overmedicated, because of mainly the notably high numbers (Insel). Also, a study by the University of Florida College of Pharmacy showed that there is about a 40% chance of having three-year-olds who have been diagnosed with ADHD taking up to three kinds of mental health drugs by the time they are aged eight years old (Lea Reynolds). These drugs include anticonvulsants, antipsychotics, and other multi-mental health drugs. The findings of these two reports bring to the forefront the claim that children with ADD or ADHD are being overmedicated (Lea Reynolds). This essay, therefore, seeks to argue this……

Globalization has an impact on all aspects of our lives from the environment to food. Foods that are produced in one country are a favorite in another country. This has resulted in food like quinoa being a favorite for health fanatics (Yu, 01/22/2019). However, this has led to quinoa not being readily available to the local community as they cannot afford to buy it yet it is their staple grain. Bolivia has a good climate for the growth of the grain and this means that a majority of farmers have planted the grain for export to Western countries making it scarce and pricey for the locals to buy. The primary diagnosis in the present scenario would be gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The diagnosis in this case has been made on the strength of the presenting symptoms. According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases – NIDDK (2014), some of the symptoms associated with GERD include a “regular heartburn, a painful, burning feeling in the middle of your chest, behind your breastbone, and in the middle of your abdomen.” The 46-year-old male in this case presents the very same symptoms. In essence, the symptoms that the patient presents are as a consequence of the flow-back stomach contents/stomach from his stomach into his esophagus. 1. Most Americans over the age of 65 have the ability to enroll in Medicare part A and Medicare part B. Medicare Part A is what is known as “hospital insurance”, and “helps pay for inpatient care in a hospital or limited time at a skilled nursing facility (following a hospital stay). Part A also pays for some health care and hospice care”, according to the Social Security Administration.
The Medicare website outlines some specific things within each of these broad categories. For example, under hospital care Medicare Part A covers semi-private rooms, meals, general nursing, drugs as part of your inpatient treatment, and other hospital services and supplies.

As XXXX points out from the onset, the attendance of nonviolence is a daily effort. This is to say that nonviolence is not an automatic response, but rather a deliberate and considered course of action. There are numerous nonviolent movements that have been active in the past. In seeking to demonstrate that nonviolence is indeed achievable, it would be prudent to highlight two of these movements. The two movements that will be discussed in this text are: Czechoslovakia’s Velvet Revolution (1989) and Poland’s Solidarity Movement (1980-1989).

However, Bhatia (2019) is categorical that depression in childhood and teen years appears to have been in an upward trend in recent times. Introduction
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of divorce or separation on an adolescent’s psychological adjustment, investigate if there are any gender differences in the effect of divorce, the impact of time on the adolescent after divorce, and the effect of divorce on the adolescent after controlling for parental symptoms of depression and anxiety (Størksen, Røysamb, Holmen, & Tambs, 2006).
The independent variables for this study were divorce and parental distress. These two variables were selected because the researchers wanted to establish the effect of divorce on adolescents and compare it to those of adolescents whose parents had not divorced or separated.
