Indeed, a growing number of authorities believe that threats to the fundamental right to privacy have become the greatest issue facing 21st century ethical leadership. Indeed, public and private sector organizations of all types routinely collect consumers’ personal information and use it in ways that are violative of the spirit if not the letter of the law, and the proliferation of the so-called Internet of Things has introduced yet more ways that individual privacy can be violated. The purpose of this paper is to provide a review and analysis of the relevant literature concerning this threat to ethical leadership, including recent and current trends in global leadership. This essay assumes a pro death penalty stance. The arguments in favor of the death penalty include the following. First, the death penalty stems from ancient traditions that define American culture and society. Second, the death penalty encourages respect for the law and possibly prevents some crimes from being committed in the first place through the deterrent effect. Third, the death penalty could save taxpayers a lot of money and reduce prison overcrowding, too. Arguments against the death penalty are valid but insufficient to withdraw from a pro death penalty position. For example, the death penalty is neither racist nor is it cruel and unusual punishment. The recommendation for public policy is to retain the death penalty.

Both nature and nurture matter for multiple traits and tendencies. Physical and psychological outcomes can be traced to both genetics and to environmental factors. Recent research has shown that nature and nurture are equally as important in determining outcomes (Cooper-White, 2015). However, the relationship between genetics and the environment is complex. Genetic traits may predispose individuals towards certain behaviors, which in turn moderate or enhance genetic predispositions. Similarly, environmental factors could trigger or repress specific heritable responses to stimuli.
The field of epigenetics may offer greater clarity regarding the complex relationship between nature and nurture. Epigenetics shows how genes can be turned on or off according to either environmental stimuli or the presence of other genetic features (“A Super Brief and Basic Explanation of Epigenetics for Total Beginners,” n.d.).
