...Money Norovirus: Symptoms, Causes and Treatment
Introduction
When wintertime comes, most people are excited to get out, do some holiday shopping, visit relatives, and enjoy the holidays. However, there is always the risk at this time of year of catching a bug—aka a virus. The most common fear is of catching the flu virus, which is why flu vaccines are advertised around every corner at this time. Yet, there is another virus that people do not consider so much—and, unfortunately, it is related to food—which is especially worrisome, given that Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s all fall during the same season when the norovirus is most likely to strike. In fact, given that these social holidays are all packed tight into the winter season festivities, that is one reason the norovirus is so likely to hit so many at this time.
The norovirus is known as the winter vomiting bug or……

Plagiarism And Academic Accountability

Pages: 3 (870 words) Sources: 3 Document Type:Essay Document #:79505598

...Money Academic Accountability
Define academic voice and plagiarism.
Academic voice is a form of communication that uses a formal tone with clarity, professionalism, and straightforwardness. At its core are declarative statements, avoidance of causal language, and authoritative register (Dirgeyasa & Hum, 2017).
Plagiarism is the representation of another author’s work or ideas as own and without full acknowledgment.
Apply your knowledge of academic voice and plagiarism to the rewritten passage, locating and identifying errors.
“The correlational method can be very useful, but it must be used with caution.” - (this direct quote is done well, but there is no acknowledged through in-text citation, thus plagiarism). If knowledge of one variable (height) helps predict another (weight), does that mean that one causes the other? Not necessarily. It is possible that the primary variable caused the secondary, or that the secondary variable caused the primary, or that some additional variable caused both variables.……

Volkswagen Emissions Fraud

Pages: 4 (1299 words) Sources: 4 Document Type:Essay Document #:48904563

...Money Decisions Influenced by Bias
Volkswagen produced vehicles that were equipped with emissions controls that were designed to shut off once the cars had passed regulatory tests. As s result, not only did the cars pollute more in real life than in those tests, but the company benefitted from these tests financially, because they showed that diesel engines were less polluting than gasoline ones. The result was misleading the public, making the company eligible for subsidies that gave it competitive benefit, and misleading the public, as many people may have chosen to buy a Volkswagen in part based on the emissions performance of the vehicles (Parloff, 2018).
Biases at Play
There were a few different biases at play in the Volkswagen case that can be unpacked. The first of these is the bias towards the optimal motivations of executive action. The company’s senior executive at the time, Martin Winterkorn, was aware……
