… is not surprising that people should want power and privilege. Privilege today has taken on a negative connotation, but privilege is really an honor. For example, I was privileged to be able to work at that café and be able to serve others. It was an honor to do so and I was honored by being seen as one who could be trusted to do the job well. I dishonored myself when I violated my privilege and treated customers with disrespect and discrimination. I was taught not to envy people, and I think … to see, however, people who have been privileged to abuse that privilege. I think that is where the whole problem lies. When we honor our roles in life and treat others with respect, we show the world that we are honorable. It is when we lose sight of that honor that discrimination and prejudice can……

Introduction
As Frank (2018) points out, over 33% of all US employees obtained their job with their current organization by way of referral from another employee there. Although employee referrals are an easy, fast and often tempting way to staff positions, the risk is that doing so can lead to a less diverse workplace, with 40% of all referrals tending to be white men (Payscale, 2018). The central question is: How can HR use employee referrals to increase the workforce but still be able to maintain diversity within the organization? The solution is to consider closely the source of the referral. Different relationships between the referring source and the referral……

...Honor Equal Opportunity Program
In the spirit of, and in service to the Army’s mission and vision, the Equal Opportunity Program exists “to ensure fair treatment for military personnel, family members and civilians without regard to race, color, gender, religion, age, disability or national origin,” (United States Army, 2014, p. 1). Because of the destructive power of discrimination on organizational culture, the Equal Opportunity Program ensures the fulfillment of organizational objectives via the creation of a sustainable, effective environment in which personnel flourish and contribute to departmental missions and goals. The Equal Opportunity Program includes several components, such as training, classes, materials, the establishment of a special harassment hotline, and procedures for reporting and prosecuting violations of ethical or behavioral codes related to equal opportunity comportment.
The reasons behind the Equal Opportunity Program are expressly stated on the Army’s website and include an admission and embrace of the heterogeneity of its……
