… or gas but that runs on electricity. Yet even the electricity used to charge the battery of the EV is mainly produced by fossil fuel. The US federal government has its own US Energy Information Administration, which published an article entitled “Electricity Explained.” In that article, the US … and good for the environment as its proponents make it out to be? From start to finish, EV production relies on petroleum and fossil fuel the same as ICE cars do—for parts, production and fuel consumption. Shareholder Vs Stakeholder Theory

Pages: 11 (3224 words) Sources: 6 Document Type:Research Paper Document #:76323348

...Fossil fuel Introduction
Milton Friedman’s quote gets to the heart of the conflict between shareholder theory vs. stakeholder theory. Shareholder theory posits that a corporation’s sole responsibility is to maximize the return on investment (ROI) for shareholders. Stakeholder theory posits, on the other hand, that a company owes a duty to all stakeholders (not just shareholders)—members of the community, workers, consumers; in short, anyone who is part of or who is impacted in some way by the company. The question is: Do corporations exist only to serve the interests of shareholders or do they also have a responsibility to serve stakeholders as well? This paper will answer that question by looking at the nature and essence of business social responsibility from the standpoint of the four major sources of ethical values in business: Law, Culture, Philosophy, and Religion. It will show that in today’s business environment, stakeholder theory needs to be pursued……

...Fossil fuel Operations Management
Introduction to the Company
Fiyeli Coffee is an artisan coffee roaster in a mid-sized city. The company operates with a wholesale-only business model, which allows it to focus on the high end restaurant and hotel trade in the state, along with a mail order retail business. Fiyeli also sells to select coffee shops, but most of its market is on the restaurant and hotel side.
In the United States, the retail coffee market is worth an estimated $12.8 billion and saw a growth rate of 7.9% (Morder Intelligence, 2017). The market is highly competitive and highly stratified, but the growth provides opportunity for companies to grow, and to find specialized niche markets.
The Challenge
Fiyeli faces a long-term challenge to ensure a stable supply chain of high quality coffee beans. Rising consumption has increased demand, while climate change is threatening supply, the result being a spike in the……
