Madinger (2006) points out that the net worth method is among the most common used in accounting forensics when it comes to detecting illegal income, such as by way of money laundering. The case of Danske Bank and its money laundering escapades from 2007 to 2015 through an Estonian branch where a quarter of a trillion dollars flowed is a prime example of a situation in which the net worth method could be applied to investigate this corporate fraud.

As an individual with friends in Palestine, I have heard the stories and seen firsthand the immoral acts committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza and in the West Bank. I have seen the bulldozed homes, the illegal Israeli settlements, the victims of Israeli aggression, the loved ones buried—killed by soldiers or burned and murdered by Israel’s use of white phosphorous, which others have also reported on (Kaposi, 2016). The BDS Movement is a movement that aims to draw attention to these crimes and to hold Israel accountable. It aims to put pressure on the state—economically—so that the state begins to realize the enormity of its crimes and makes amends.

Introduction
The 1854 Reciprocity Treaty is one of the most famous economic treaties in Canadian history. The Reciprocity Treaty was a trade treaty that was signed between the economy of the United States and what was then known as the Province of Canada (Quebec and Ontario) and other smaller provinces of the then British North America. The treaty was a forerunner of the Canada-United States trade agreement of 1989. It was primarily intended to facilitate free trade in primary products such as coal, fish, timber, barley, oats, and wheat. The parties signed it on 5th June 1854, and it went into effect as soon as it was ratified by the lawmaking bodies of the parties to the treaty. The legislatures in the Canadian provinces approved it before the end of 1854, while the United States approved it in 1855 (Haynes, 1892, p. 18; Hinton, 2013). This work looks……
