Reliance Industries was founded by the Ambani family in the 1960s in Maharashtra, manufacturing synthetic fabrics. The company went public in 1977. Chairman and MD of the company is Mukesh Ambani and the Ambani family controls 46.32% of the company’s shares, which are listed on the National Stock Exchange of India. The company currently oversees 158 subsidiaries and has 7 associate firms with nearly 30,000 employees (Reliance Industries, Limited, 2019). From the 1960s to the 1980s, the company was managed by its founder Dhirubhai Ambani; but after suffering a stroke, Dhirubhai gave control of daily operations to his sons Mukesh and Anil. When Dhirubhai died in 2002, Mukesh and Anil assumed control of management of the whole company. Fiyeli Coffee is an artisan coffee roaster in a mid-sized city. The company operates with a wholesale-only business model, which allows it to focus on the high end restaurant and hotel trade in the state, along with a mail order retail business. Fiyeli also sells to select coffee shops, but most of its market is on the restaurant and hotel side.

John Steinbeck’s “The Chrysanthemums” and James Thurber’s “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” tell two very different stories about two very different people—but both share one thing in common, which is each conveys a sense of what women in society are like. Steinbeck’s short story is naturally more sympathetic and empathetic, as the main character of the story is a woman, who is aching for affection and tempted to stray from her husband by a deceitful wanderer. James Thurber’s short story focuses mainly on a bored married man, who disappears into daydreams while awaiting orders from his wife.
