Disney was at its best when it was not just Eisner but rather the triumvirate of Eisner, Wells and Katzenberg. The three complemented one another well, but individually and on their own they could not recreate the same magic. Thus, strategy formulation and implementation has to start with the question of who is calling the shots and making the decisions at Disney? Who is bringing the vision? What is the vision? This has to be clearly defined and it has to be directional. Once the direction is defined, the parenting strategy has to be defined: this is the “manner in which management coordinates activities, transfers resources, and cultivates capabilities among product lines and business units” (Wheelan, Hunger, Hoffman & Bamford, 2010, p. 5). The strategy has to focus on what the company is doing with its human capital. Intangible assets are human……

Digital Era And Taxation

Pages: 4 (1249 words) Sources: 5 Document Type:Research Paper Document #:83562315

...Amazon To Choose an Accounting Topic That Would Be Excellent for A Dissertation.
Research Topic
Taxation in the digital era is an excellent topic for a dissertation because there is an ongoing debate on whether digital companies are paying their fair share of taxes. Some tax experts believe that digital companies enjoy tax levels close to zero compared to traditional companies, yet they earn huge profits. The underlying principle of corporate taxation is that \"profit should be taxed where value is created\" (Sestakova, 2018). However, digitalization challenges this principle because of it difficult to pin down how and where digital companies create value. Also, digital companies rely heavily on intangible assets, big data, and which is hard to value (Sand- Zantman, 2018). Given this fact, there is a need to research problems that tax accountants face when taxing digital profits.
The above topic is relevant when examined from the technological perspective……

External Environment Of Salesforce

...Amazon Threats
There are several challenges and threats that Salesforce is confronting due to external factors. Politically, the environment of catering to political factors is growing and due to uncertainties, it is affecting all the businesses especially the international business (Pratap, 2019). Salesforce and other software companies face political threats from countries which puts their companies (domestic business) over international services which makes it difficult and complex for the companies to enter into various countries because of these barriers (Pratap, 2019). It constricts the scope of the business. Also, as the technology is increasing, the governments are moving towards more private data conservation due to which there are frameworks and laws protecting their countries’ data (Salesforce.com SWOT and Pestle Anlaysis, 2018) threatening the growth of the company.
There are some socio-economic threats and challenges as well as the people are changing and the trends and the buying patterns keep changing because……

Elon Musk And Power At Tesla

Pages: 6 (1701 words) Sources: 5 Document Type:Essay Document #:68738154

...Amazon Tesla is a company that has had at least a 5 year relationship with its CEO Elon Musk. Up until recently Musk was also Chairman of the Board. He was removed from his role as Chairman as part of a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The settlement resulted from charges filed by the SEC relating to securities fraud when Musk’s public Tweet on Twitter about taking the company private and that he had “funding secured.” The statement was shown to be a lie (Gaydos, 2018). Musk settled with the SEC and paid a hefty fine and Robyn Denholm replace Musk as Chairman of the Board. Denholm had been a Board member for five years up to that point (Porter, 2018). Thus, up until Musk’s run-in with the SEC in 2018, he had been both CEO and Chairman of the Board—which can serve as a conflict of interest,……

Media And Its Grip On Youth Culture

Pages: 8 (2308 words) Document Type:Essay Document #:55265241

...Amazon Introduction
As Stuart Hall shows, media representations are powerful. The problem is that the often present stereotypical images and characters that perpetuate and propagate biased beliefs. Because so much media is directed at and consumed by young people, youth culture itself becomes inundated with prefabricated ideas that are developed by the Culture Industry for their consumption. The Frankfurt School argued that the reason people in America never rose up against the owners of the means of production was because the Culture Industry had pacified them by way of the media—films, TV shows, musicals, music albums and so on—all of it had depleted the working class people of whatever impulse they might have had to rise up and take control of their own destiny, like Marx said they would. One of the most powerful companies within the Culture Industry is Disney, and as Giroux points out, it is all about hooking……
