One of these is both my technical and personal affiliation with nursing. In other words, I love nursing for two reasons: the medicine and the people I work with. I love the way in which the profession has developed to provide people now with the best of medical care possible. Furthermore, I love being able to comfort people in need, including the patients' families. This is also why I believe I would be a good ICU nurse.

The nursing profession is not for everyone. This gives me the feeling that those who work with, together with me, find themselves in the privileged position not only of job security, but also of a particularly strong mental and personal make-up. This of course also translates to life in general. Because I am a good nurse, I am also a blessing to those I come into contact with outside of my immediate work environment. I for example love people in general, helping me to relate very well to everybody in a social situation. People tend to confide in me, not only on the basis that I have entered the nursing profession, but also because of the fact that I seem to radiate an understanding and sympathetic aura. This is something that I enjoy, as it makes me feel very useful in a world often filled with pain. My family and friends are wonderful support systems when it comes to encouragement and helping me set my goals. I am surrounded by many people who love and respect me. This is a strong basis from which to pursue my nursing career.

Another, more concrete strength that will enhance my ability to reach my goal is the fact that I am a very determined person. Even as a youngster I was willing to make sacrifices for the success I wanted. This is another quality I acquired early in life: success seldom comes without sacrifices. I am willing to make any sacrifice necessary to pursue my goals as stated above.

The greatest detriment to my goals, and also my greatest weakness, is financial. Of course no university career is cheap. This is a challenge for me, as neither I nor my family have the amount of funding available that would be required for the fruition of my plans. Exacerbating the problem is the fact that neither the medical programs I am interested in nor the anesthetist program allow students to work temporarily while they are on the program. While I can understand the premise behind this, it is difficult for me because I do not want to burden my parents with a further need for funds. Concomitantly, I am very eager to begin earning my own money so that I can become increasingly independent as I focus on my career and my success.

Despite these difficulties, I do believe that every problem can be overcome. I have enough determination and love for my career to want success more than anything else in the world. I believe that this, rather than financial security, will eventually lead to the solution of my problems, so that I can pursue the career that I know I was meant for since early childhood. In this, I feel my excitement more greatly than…

These elements can include different principles, skills, attitudes, concepts, and generalizations (Hall, 2002). Using a semester-long project for the students helps weave together elements and materials to support the instructional content. Looking at a long-term project that allows students to pull together skills from different areas would allow this type of differentiation. This project would depend upon the content of the curriculum, so it is going to vary by

Personal Leadership Plan Personal Leadership Development Plan The nursing profession is about helping people. The nurse has an innate sense of caring for others and wanting to ease their suffering. This is the central reason why anyone wishes to become a nurse. Currently, a nursing shortage means that nurses can have a steady supply of places to work and currently some of the highest wages of any profession in the country. However,
