Imagine going to the country of Brazil, but before going one studies the history and impact of soccer. The culture is influenced and the people strive to either participate or cheer on the team. This region is unified by this sport, and life is not the same without it. One will examine how much this game has inspired the economy and everyone in the nation for the positive from the beginning to the present. Many versions are present in regards to the history of soccer in Brazil. This started with the sailors who were British as well as Dutch. They used to play this game on the coastline in the northeastern part of the region. However, many claim that Mr. Hugh is the father of soccer (Maps of World, 2011). Not only is that the case, but the sale of flags and anything that deals with the nationalism of this activity is sold. People purchase at a rate of 20-40% more during this time. Food and drink consumption increases as well. The government chose to make a law where people do not have to work when this event occurs but this did not succeed. In every other population, this is not the case (Correa, 2010). Additionally, the oil company "Petrobras" allows management to take off and are required to make them up after the occasion (Correa, 2010). The people of Brazil love soccer. They are unified through it because of their "patriarchal society" (MacLachlan, 2003). The classes have weak ties, but somehow this occurrence brings them together no matter what their socioeconomic status (MacLachlan, 2003).
