Communication modality used in health care

Across all sectors of health care communication is critical to ensuring quality of care. Improving the quality of communication is tantamount to better outcomes in patient health. The communication modality between the provider and the consumer affects each facet of health care provision. It promotes health, prevention of disease, disease assessment, diagnosis and treatment. The paramount importance of communication on the overriding interest of patients' and, their family member's wellness is the quality of care and the confidentiality (Delbanco & Sands, 2004).

Web-based Collaboration Communication Modality

Web-based Collaboration communication entails the use of communication technology in the clinical health context to consult with the care givers and those receiving treatment (Turner, Thomas, & Reinsch, 2004). The communication modality is across a distance allowing the conveyance of information to specialist and patients with a high degree of confidentiality. The secure communication measure sends encrypted messages to alert the privileged acknowledged users of the information. The user uses login credentials to read and respond to the message (Turner et al., 2004).

This method ensures that the clinical information conveyed is only accessible to those with the credentials allowing them access. The web-based collaboration communication is encrypted to ensure that the conveyance of personal clinical data is not intercepted or misdirected (Wittson & Benschoter, 2006).

The users of the web-based collaboration modality can easily upload their data and access the information remotely and be able to offer feedback to peers in the case of consulting physicians. Patients can be able to track their diagnosis and treatment procedures without necessarily paying physical visits to the health care center. The information availed in the web-based collaboration communication modality can be used to serve as a tracking measure to the treatment and diagnosis process (Wittson & Benschoter, 2006).

Maintaining patient confidentiality is a necessary measure that each and every care giver is aligning their objectives to. Failure to meet the requirements for patient information confidentiality is leading to major malpractices suits to the care givers. This is a setback to the desired growth of a care center. In this case web-based Collaboration offers an opportunity to the health care center to convey information only to the relevant parties without running the risk of liking the information. Patients can have confidence in the care giver ability to treat their information with the utmost required confidentiality and to willingly avail information that can lead to quick diagnosis.
