To ensure the deontological validity of the agreement, the specific requirements of Article VII therefore need to be somewhat modified and restipulated. Rather than allowing no other employment, there could for example be some conditions that govern other ventures to supplement the military services income.

Of course it must be understood that the military is a highly confidential entity, and that no information or service should be divulged to other, similar agencies. From the utilitarian viewpoint, the military is served best when the type of service provided by its employees remains exclusive to the company. However, from the deontological viewpoint, it should also be understood that the employee is in a position where his or her finances from exclusive service to the military are insufficient for the rising costs of living.

Hence a provision could be included in Article VII: rather than allowing no other employment, the provision could state that no other similar employment is allowed to a similar entity or indeed within the stipulated work hours of the employee. When the employee is not on military premises and operates outside of his or her military work hours, employment that is not related to the military should be allowed. An employee could for example hold an administrative job at a financial department or a restaurant, or even have his or her own business. The current agreement does not appear to allow these options unless written permission is obtained. I do not feel that such premission should be necessary. Signing a contract that stipulates the limitations of additional employment should be sufficient from both a deontological and utilitarian viewpoint. Employers and employees should work together to gain mutual benefits from the association. This is done best by means of negotiation and mutual understanding.

Description of Research Procedure The study reviewed here was conducted in order to test whether the ethical standards were much more loosely based on individual decision practices rather than a larger universal underlying theme. Researchers used the Vignette method which is "a scenario-based approach that is about how managers (participants in this study) respond to certain ethical dilemma situations," (Kim & Chun 2003: 378). Thus, various situations within the context of

However, there are often no rules, or weak ones, and that can create an ethical dilemma on the part of marketers. They must decide for themselves what lines they want to cross, and set their own codes of ethics. Where rules only provide guidelines, these can be open to interpretation. As we have seen with the area of marketing to children, however, the marketing industry has kept ahead of the
