Demographic Profile And Motivation Of Suicide Bombers

Pages: 5 (1591 words) Sources: 6 Document Type:Essay Document #:63328521

...Vulnerable population Suicide Terrorism: Driven to Death
Introduction
Who are the terrorists engaging in suicide bombings? What motivates them to act? These are some of the questions Merari (2010) tackles in Driven to Death. They are not entirely new questions, as other researchers have asked them as well—but Merari (2010) does provide new insight into the phenomenon of suicide bombing by conducting field work and independent research to uncover more information on this particular subject. This paper explores some of the findings of Merari (2010) and compares them with what other researchers have had to say, particularly on the subject of what motivates terrorists to act.
Demographics
While many scholars argue that there is no demographic profile of the suicide bomber, Merari (2010) disagrees and presents his own demographic profile based on his own research. The argument of general scholarship is that anyone can be a suicide bomber, young or old, rich……

Preparing For The Death Of A Spouse

Pages: 5 (1586 words) Sources: 7 Document Type:Research Paper Document #:76491981

...Vulnerable population Introduction
It is complicated and painful to lose a spouse. The family bears the brunt for such a loss. One of the essential things following the loss of a spouse is getting to understand the circumstances that surrounded the loss and its secondary effects. Healing can only take place after the acceptance visits (Glazer et al., 2010). The level of grief is determined by one's social setting, resources, and relationships. People's response to a loss such as a bereavement differs and is unique to individuals, yet it is socially experienced. The survivors affect an individual's response to loss. The response also affects the overall impact. The impact is also affected by the changing circumstances and processes of coping, including their psychosocial and spiritual growth. This study aims at setting the psychosocial and physical coping ground for the loss of a spouse. The study aims at exploring the approaches that can……

...Vulnerable population The assassination of Major General Qassem Soleimani
Introduction
In early 2020, January 3, the U.S. launched airstrike attacks around Baghdad International Airport and killed two of the most influential leaders in Iran, Iraq, and the surrounding regions. The strike killed Qassem Soleimani, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps- Quds Force's Major General, and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, the Deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Commission, and also the founder of the militia known as Kata' ib Hezbollah (Jahanbani, 2020). The strikes happened when there was an escalating conflict between the US, Iran and Iraq. This was after December 27, 2019, when a famous proxy from Iran by the name Kata' ib Hezbollah killed several pro-Iranian Militia members and a U.S. citizen four days down the line. The hit triggered criticisms of the Trump administration of how he was using his diplomatic, executive powers and ethical judgment in leadership. He was accused of……

Contaminated Lead Water The Effects In Newark

Pages: 7 (2108 words) Sources: 8 Document Type:Essay Document #:71672573

...Vulnerable population The Effects of Contaminated Lead Water in Newark
Abstract
In recent times, there has been a consistent public outcry on continuous leaching of a significant amount of lead into Newark’s water system. However, the local municipal officials have been refuting the claims despite the fact that more than ten percent of water samples collected in 2018 were found with more than 15.8 parts per billion higher than federal lead limit of 15.0 parts per billion. It is also established that Newark’s officials have not been conducting lead and copper rule sampling as required of them, thus failing to identify high content of lead in drinking water. As a result, state department of environmental protection gave an alarm to Newark officials for exceeding the federal limits of lead in drinking water.
This paper therefore, will therefore focus on establishing the effects of Lead contaminated drinking water in Newark to the residents……
