Mission Command
...Space What is the Art of Leadership
Mission command is defined in the Army Doctrine Publication 6-0 as “the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander's intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations” (McBride & Snell, 2017). The philosophy and concepts of mission command can be found in the six guiding principles of mission command, which are: 1) using mutual trust to build a cohesive team, 2) creating a sense of shared understanding, 3) being clear about what the commander’s intent is, 4) exercising an initiative that is disciplined, 5) using mission orders, and 6) accepting prudent risk (Hutchings, 2018). Thus, one can see that the most important concepts in the philosophy of mission command are trust, communication, understanding, discipline, guidance and prudence. Abstract
In sum, I believe the long-range impact that educational leadership should have on stakeholders and on the community includes providing young learners with the critical thinking skills they will need to succeed in the 21st century workplace as well as developing good citizens that actively participate in the political process. Today, the United States invests enormous sums in its public educational system, but these scarce taxpayer resources are being wasted without the positive long-range impact that effective leadership should have on stakeholders and on the community. Because effective leadership has been shown time and again to be inextricably associated with organizational performance, it is not surprising that there has been a growing body of scholarship devoted to this topic over the years. Young women are primary victims of domestic violence and it has been estimated that every minute, 20 people suffer from domestic violence in the U.S. (NCADV, 2017). This issue is therefore one that is quite serious, but it is one that particularly impacts the African-American community. African-American women struggle particularly because the African-American family has suffered for decades in the U.S. because of a number of issues—from the incarceration of black men to such an extent that black disproportionately make up a greater percentage of the prison population than any other group to the fact that black culture has been abused by the pushing of drugs culture and liberalism into the homes and streets of black communities. History and Why the Business Fits
My business proposal is to start (re-start) the coffee-shop/restaurant that once existed in Walker Theatre (it was then named “The Coffee Pot”). The Madam Walker Theatre was named after Madam C. J. Sarah Breedlove Walker, an African-American entrepreneur who specialized in hair care and beauty products that were manufactured and sold in the building that now serves as her namesake. She developed and initiated plans for the building to be built and after her death in 1919 the completion of the project fell to her daughter A’Leila Walker. The building opened in 1927 and served as both the headquarters for the Madam C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company—one of the biggest and brightest examples of African-American ingenuity and industry in the 20th century (National Park Service, 2019)—and as an entertainment theatre for the African……
