Gender dysphoria is a psychological condition that stems from confusion regarding one’s gender. While sex is biological and gender conceptual, gender is essentially the psychological awareness and acceptance of one’s biological sex. A person who is gender dysphoric is confused on this matter. Conception of a third gender in one’s mind does not mean a third sex has developed. The misalignment between gender identification and sex can lead to mental illness and physical illness if hormonal therapy is introduced, puberty suppressed or other chemicals used to help the person alter his or her sense of sex so as to promote the gender identity.
Suicide ideation, attempts at suicide, depression, anxiety—all of these are short term affects of gender dysphoria (Delgado-Ruiz et al.). Individuals who engage in hormonal therapy to help themselves to transition to the gender with which they……

Women tend to find work in jobs such as production coordination, marketing and PR. Men tend to be found in more creative roles and technical jobs. While the authors claim that stereotypes are the reason for this workplace segregation, Hoffman and Hurst suggest that role schemas actually precede the stereotypes, and the schema are a simply based on what men and women appear socially to be good at. In other words, in the culture industry, shows and films written by men have a better track record with audiences than shows written by women—and though there may be some gender bias there it is the reality of the situation. The Pew Research article by Drake (2013) shows that men spend more time in leisure activity than women, and the argument that has developed from this news article is that there is a leisure gap between men and women that further shows the state of gender inequality in America today. While the data from the American Time Use Survey that the article cites does show that statistically speaking men spend more time in leisure activities than women, the data itself does not tell the whole story—so the article is definitely slanted in a way so as to suggest that the leisure gap is real and that men are still taking advantage of women. After all, the title of the article is “Another Gender Gap: Men Spend More Time in Leisure Activities”—so it is definitely not a stretch to……

In today’s multicultural workforce, gender remains an area where power disparity occurs. While other barriers are being broken down, there remains stereotypical views regarding gender roles that can influence the modern workplace. This paper will examine some of the prevailing research on the subject to determine the current state of gender norms within the workplace.
Diversity is typically considered a benefit to the workplace, but the way in which diversity manifests should nevertheless be taken into account. Diverse environments still retain some elements of bias, and these should be understood in order to get the best out of diverse environments. If the point of diversity is to improve overall organizational functioning, then the way that diversity works in the workforce needs to be understood complete.
