Lesson Objectives

• Teach physiology terminology in English

• Teach physiology terminology in Spanish

• Be able to describe major functions of each body part

• In both Spanish and English

• Teach general fitness guidelines and metrics

• Teach students to be able to synthesize both narrative/report speech relating to the subject as well as graphs, charts and diagrams

• Drive home the importance of having a strong and fluent understanding of terminology and contextual information within the medical paradigm

• Be able to explain Spanish narratives and speech into English

Standard/Benchmark/Indicator

• Insure that lesson plan meets or exceeds local and/or state standards that are required

• Ensure that knowledge bestowed at least meets (if not exceeds) what is expected to be known given the grade level involved (e.g. for standardized testing, etc.)

• Ensure that lesson plan and curriculum is consistent from class to class and period to period except due to approved and needed changes

• Start off things by getting a fix on what the students know and what they do not know

• Avoid going over things that are clearly learned but still make sure that all needed information is either already known or that it will be reviewed and taught.
