The Wells Fargo Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) Scandal occurred as a result of the banking firm placing CPI on accounts even though the account holders did not ask for it or want it. It resulted in customers paying unnecessary and higher fees over a period of time. Wells Fargo was sued and agreed to settle the case out of court for approximately $400 million without admitting fault (Top Class Actions, 2019). The scandal, however, caused Wells Fargo to lose a great deal of reputation: customers began leaving the bank in droves and the firm suddenly found itself wondering how it had fallen and what it could do to shore up trust among customers once more. For years, the bank seemed happy to dupe customers with excessive fees, believing no customer would be sophisticated enough to realize just how he was being overcharged—but customers did catch on and……

Introduction
Over the past 20 years, Starbucks has experienced both periods of strong growth, and periods of retraction, most notably during the Great Recession. The company’s investment strategies should have reflected its strategic priorities during this period, and an analysis of the company’s financials over this time should illustrate that. Starbucks’ growth since 1998 has mainly been in overseas markets, but the company has also branched out into other business lines, in an attempt to diversify its income streams. Today, Starbucks appears to have settled into more of a “cash cow” state, where the company is earning healthy returns from its businesses, and focused on growth mainly in some of the overseas markets where the coffee market is maybe a bit more nascent, in other words where there remains high growth potential going forward.

...International finance Tesla is a company that has had at least a 5 year relationship with its CEO Elon Musk. Up until recently Musk was also Chairman of the Board. He was removed from his role as Chairman as part of a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The settlement resulted from charges filed by the SEC relating to securities fraud when Musk’s public Tweet on Twitter about taking the company private and that he had “funding secured.” The statement was shown to be a lie (Gaydos, 2018). Musk settled with the SEC and paid a hefty fine and Robyn Denholm replace Musk as Chairman of the Board. Denholm had been a Board member for five years up to that point (Porter, 2018).
