The Institute of Medicine (IOM) in its Future of Nursing report stated that there is a need for nurses to be able to practice to the full extent and scope of their education and training (IOM, 2010). In doing so, the belief was that this would increase access to care and provide nurses with the opportunity to practice as they were trained. O’Brien (2003) notes, after all, that the whole reason APRNs began being trained in the latter half of the 20th century was to fill the gap being left behind by primary care physicians as they left their primary care practice to go work for specialized medicine. Today, however, nurses are still bound by regulations that require them in many states to work under the supervision of physicians even though the nurses have the training to treat patients independently of doctors.

Huntington Disease Involving Oral Histology And Embryology

Huntington’s disease is one of many neurodegenerative diseases, which has chorea as one of its prevalent symptoms (Hergert, Sanchez-Ramos, & Cimino, 2019, p.1) . Discovered in the late 1800s’ by George Huntington, a young American medical doctor at the time, the disease has gathered interest from the medical community—but with little in the way of a cure. The disease is highly hereditary, with a 50% chance of transference from parent to offspring (Boyle, Frölander & Manley, 2008, p.333; Roos, 2010, p.6). This hereditary property (of this disease) is due to it being a genetic disorder, which is activated in those that exhibit its symptoms. Primarily, every person has the gene that causes Huntington’s disease, and the activation is equally likely in both biological classifications of human gender (Male and Female); however, those that activate its activity have the expanded version of the gene. Recent immigrants find themselves especially vulnerable to being caught in the crossfire of heated debates over American immigration policy. The migration of Mexican nationals to the United States is hardly a new phenomenon; in fact, the tide of immigration flow from Mexico ebbed in the 1970s. As Massey 1986) points out, it is a gross generalization to assume that economic factors alone drive immigration. Certainly there are a large number of immigrants from Mexico to the United States who are both pushed and pulled by financial need.
