Creating A Culture Of Diversity Healthcare For Veterans

...Book acts Creating Diversity
Elder Veterans and Health Care Services
The focus of my dissertation is toward the aged American population, particularly the elderly veterans. I will be considering the type and quality of care they receive for the remainder of their old age. Currently, there are programs and health services targeted toward that group. I am interested in the approaches and activities of such programs and other similar programs that might need to be implemented through congressional deliberation and approval. Gerontology is receiving significant attention from researchers in the American space due to the steady incline of the aged American population.
Through the evaluation of certain tendencies within the group of elderly veterans, intervention measures can be provided. Known risk-factors within this group include mental illnesses and war-related disabilities/amputations, which are potential triggers for suicidal behavior/tendency with increasing age (Reid, 2018). Also, there is an increasing sense of hopelessness associated with……

...Book acts Norovirus: Symptoms, Causes and Treatment
Introduction
When wintertime comes, most people are excited to get out, do some holiday shopping, visit relatives, and enjoy the holidays. However, there is always the risk at this time of year of catching a bug—aka a virus. The most common fear is of catching the flu virus, which is why flu vaccines are advertised around every corner at this time. Yet, there is another virus that people do not consider so much—and, unfortunately, it is related to food—which is especially worrisome, given that Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s all fall during the same season when the norovirus is most likely to strike. In fact, given that these social holidays are all packed tight into the winter season festivities, that is one reason the norovirus is so likely to hit so many at this time.
The norovirus is known as the winter vomiting bug or……

Healthcare And Reflex Pathways

Pages: 4 (1243 words) Sources: 6 Document Type:Essay Document #:20197494

...Book acts Reflex pathways
Introduction
Reflexes or reflex pathways are always most easily observed as well as analyzed specifically when the spinal cord directly receives a synchronous volley, particularly of afferent input. Due to such an occurrence, the afferent volley often has been provoked specifically by electrical stimulation associated with nerves, rather than particularly by the natural stimulation associated with peripheral receptors (Goldberger, 2019). The result in most cases is always that several reflex stimuli, especially in various animal experiments, become described specifically in terms of the specific intensity of the electrical stimulation associated with the nerve, rather than particularly in terms of which the sensory receptors have majorly been activated.
Fortunately, in the muscle nerves, there always exists a fairly close specific relationship between the particular electrical stimulation threshold associated with fiber together with the sensory receptor that it innervates (Horn, 2019). This paper aims to explore the reflex pathways by……
