It is because of this that Hinduism has become as powerful now as it has ever been (Hopfe and Woodward 77-113).

Buddhism

Among the most powerful religions of the world, comes Buddhism. Its great history is one that makes this spiritual belief one that has withstood time. Not only is its origination in one of the most populated countries of the world, but the powerful influence that it has had on other religions and on the political institutions from which some nations base their governments, it has become clear that Buddhism, just as Christianity and Islam have become, is a great powerful influence on the insurgence of political atmospheres, and extremists views (Hopfe and Woodward 134-155).

Buddhism is most closely associated with peaceful teachings and non-violent approaches to everyday issues. Because of this great belief in that everything can be resolved through peaceful means, governments have chosen to also adapt these religious views. Political influence within this realm seems to be of an impossible nature and although the intertwinement of politics and religion is something that can be looked down upon, in Buddhism, it is something that can actually be welcomed as it brings peace and better resolution to something that can seem impossible to manage at times (Hopfe and Woodward 134-155).

A great interest arose when the term extreme Buddhism was introduced. Knowing the power that Buddhism holds in pacing oneself and in being humble, thinking of Buddhists as being extreme in anything can sometimes be hard to fathom, but the case does exist. Certain Buddhists find satisfaction and find meaning in depriving themselves of anything that can even resemble pleasure or indulgence. What is ironic about this in itself is that by rejecting indulgence in pleasure, extreme Buddhists indulge themselves in deprivation (Hopfe and Woodward 134-155).

No doubt, such feelings are greatly exacerbated by the current hard-line policies of the U.S. government in the Middle East, Conclusion There is a general perception in the Western world that the religion of Islam is inherently incompatible with the ideals of democracy such as individual liberties and freedom of speech. Jewish values neither ban the rights of abortion, nor do they allow undiscerning abortion capabilities (Yadgar, 2006). Women who are the solitary carriers of their babies have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies; however in Judaism, abortion is only allowed if there is some deathly threat to mother. After testifying, men are obliged to have education as similar to the God who strived for improvement

Islam in the Age of Globalization The three major religions in the 21st century are all Abrahamic in historical basis. These religions, Judaism, Islam and Christianity remain at the edge of political, social, and cultural issues, particularly now in that globalism has become so predominant. These religions are noted as Abrahamic because each uses the basic teachings of the Prophet Abraham in their general world view. All three faiths are monotheistic

There are many examples of God's love, but much violence as well. The Bible is full of stories of warring peoples, fighting to the death for their beliefs. Persecution of the Jews, seen on a massive scale as late as the 20th century's Holocaust, was fueled by the New Testament, as Jews were blamed for the crucifixion death of Jesus Christ. Even after World War II, Jews in the

Religion in the Modern World Religion Modern World Religion is something that is as old as man. It means "almost everything because religions deal with the whole of human life -- and death" (Bowker 2006). Since the beginning of mankind, individuals have searched themselves and others, contemplated the universe and all its elements, and religions are what were formed through these personal and public explorations. But what exactly are religions? What does
