The electric vehicle (EV) market has received a considerable boost in recent years thanks in no small part to the rise of Tesla and its Model 3. However, while Tesla is basically a luxury EV manufacturer and most other automakers in the business are approaching the EV design with a tendency towards luxury over affordability, the idea behind this venture is to provide a cheap, high-quality EV to consumers that is practical, appealing, and safe. Considering that internal combustion engine (ICE) cars have reached a plateau in terms of how much further advanced they can get, and the EVs from Tesla, VW, Porsche and other firms are all going after the luxury consumer market, there is room for an innovate EV idea that will transform the entire industry just as the first car transformed the horse and buggy industry. This idea aims to be disruptive. The product will be……

...Research article Just like pornography, everyone seems to know \"gentrification\" when they see it. See a Starbucks or Whole Foods move into a neighborhood? That's gentrification. Find out that a house sold for an exorbitant amount or that rents at some building doubled? That's gentrification. See bike lanes added to your street, or a rack of bike-share bikes pop up near a busy corner? That's gentrification.
– Pete Saunders, 2017
Gentrification is one of the most controversial issues in American cities today. But as the epigraph above clearly indicates, it also remains one of the least understood. Few agree on how to define it or whether it is boon or curse for cities. Due in large part to this lack of definitional clarity, opinions about gentrification in the past have been largely shaped by the negative connotations and effects of gentrification that have been highlighted by the mainstream media. For instance, according……

...Research article Introduction
There is no assigned definition for mission command. This is to say that there are various definitions that have been floated in the past in an attempt to express this particular warfighting function. As a matter of fact, there are different definitions assigned to mission command under Army doctrine and the Joint Doctrine. In addition to highlighting what I learnt about mission command, this discussion will also assess how I intend to apply the philosophy as well as concepts of mission command in my future duty.
Discussion
What I learnt about Mission Command
As per the Army Doctrine Publication 6-0, “mission command is the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander's intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations” (U.S. Army, 2012, p. 1-3). On the other hand, mission command as per……

...Research article The Social Issue
Depression is a significant social issue of interest to me as I have seen it affect numerous people in my own life and have even struggled with it at times myself. Depression has caused people to take their lives: Chester Bennington, lead singer of the group Linkin Park took his life following the suicide of his friend, and numerous other people who are less famous end up in similar situations—lost, without hope, unable to break a cycle of depression that has them gripped as though in a vice. Depression is an issue that can be treated, however, but in order for the right intervention to be applied, awareness about depression has to be raised so that the stigma and taboo of depression can be alleviated, allowing those who suffer from it to come forward. In recent years, major public figures, especially athletes, have come into the light……
