Some women remain in abusive relationships for different reasons. Some are scared to leave. Others feel that they still love the person so to leave because they are being abused would be wrong. Some see the abuse as a trade-off that comes with the security the person provides, such as money, shelter, etc. Sometimes there is a co-dependency and the person feels that life would not be any better without the person because there is going to be abuse in life no matter what. Women sometimes think they deserved it or that they made the person upset and that it was just for the man to beat or abuse them.

Dementia Inevitable Or Preventable
...Aggression Introduction
Dementia is a degenerative cognitive health issue that primarily affects the elderly population and is characterized by “impairments in cognitive and intellectual ability, memory, language, reasoning, and judgment,” all of which interfere with the individual’s ability to function in everyday life (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2014). The two most common forms of dementia are Alzheimer’s Disease and vascular dementia (Livingston et al., 2017). While not much is known about the etiology of dementia other than that it is related to cellular damage in the brain, there has been some success in identifying possible ways to prevent it. This paper will define dementia, its manifestations and types, discuss three research articles that deal with preventing dementia, and provide suggestions for future research on this topic.

...Aggression Vicarious trauma (VT) includes the harmful changes in the views of professionals, such as K-12 educators, of themselves, the world, and others, due to exposure to traumatic material or graphic of their clients or students. Post-traumatic stress (PTS) is a set of psychological symptoms acquired through exposure to individuals exhibiting the impacts of trauma. K-12 educators who work with students exposed to trauma are susceptible to indirect traumatization due to hearing about the experiences of their students and witnessing the negative influence of VT or PTS in them. Distress associated with PTS results from hearing traumatic stories, seeing distress at high levels post a traumatic event, retelling a victim’s story, and/or viewing trauma-related images. Personal trauma history, supervision experiences evidence, and perceived coping style evidence are predictors for vicarious trauma.
